Recovery Central, Friends of Recovery Foundation
Like most non-profit organizations, we rely on the generosity of our patrons to sustain our mission: to provide a permanent facility for 12-step home groups to meet and recover. We are SO very excited to tell you that due to the benevolence of you, our supporters, we have paid off the building that is home to Recovery Central! It has been 27 years since Friends of Recovery Foundation was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit by a group of people who recognized a need for a permanent home where people seeking recovery could gather and grow. For most of those years, we paid rent. And, we grew. Then, we got a mortgage a few years ago. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect to be owners so soon! In addition to our supporters, we also owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to our Board of Directors which is, and always has been, comprised of volunteers. Even though most of them have "day jobs" and families, they willingly give their time, skills, and experience to ensure that the utilities are always on, the roof does not leak, the "Exit" signs are in the right place, the permits and taxes are up-to-date, the trash gets picked up and the Coke machine is always stocked. They are extraordinary people transforming their passion into action so that thousands of addicts seeking recovery will be able to live life as it is meant to be, which is savored, not feared.
